Josie’s Jamishness was conceptualized in 2008 when Josie was brainstorming ideas of how to celebrate her birthday that year in her homeland of Trinidad & Tobago. In all the wild ideas, Josie decided to have the 1st J’ouvert style event outside of carnival, ever!

Josie invited 250 friends to her birthday party that year and pulled together the logistic by loaning 2 drinks vans from TRIBE carnival band and hiring a 40ft Music trailer. The name Josie’s Jamishness was chosen simply as a tribute to the popular Trinidad carnival soca song of 2008 from the great Machel Montano. All invited guests received their invitation package inclusive of Josie’s Jamishness T-shirt, Cup and other Jamishness trinkets. That is how Josie’s Jamishness was born!

Starting off initially as Josie’s Birthday celebration with her invited friends 14 years ago then transitioning into a hugely successful business entity standing on its own topping out with 2500 patrons, all while keeping the Jammin going from year to year.

Being the pioneer for J’ouvert styled events around the world, Josie takes great pride in the quality of every Jammer’s experience from start to finish!
